After graduating from Furman University and The Medical University of SC, Miriam went to work for Merger Central. After moving to New York to work for Morgan Stanley and obtaining her dream job at Bishop Rosen in options, she and her boss were given the opportunity to open a second office in Miami.

Upon meeting her husband, Miriam knew it was time to seque in to a less stressful job that would be more amenable to starting a family. Miriam obtained a second master’s and started a new career in cardiac arrhythmias. After her children got a little older and less dependent on her, Miriam had the freedom to re-ignite her passion in finance. Miriam was able to revise her role in The Equity Risk Management division at Wellington Shields.

With the unwavering support of her family, she is able to be present and engaged in her children’s lives but also has the energy and time to focus on the development of a large amount of family property formerly held in L and I Inc. Due to the generosity of her grandfather, Miriam has been able to perpetuate her legacy by giving back to her three loves, Furman University, The Medical University of SC and the state of South Carolina.
