Miriam Nunn obtained her bachelor’s degree from Furman University, where she was fifth generation. While an undergrad, she was actively involved in Delta Delta Delta, the Student Alumni Council, the Student Activities Board and Honor Council. Miriam was on the executive boards of both the Student Alumni Council and FUSAB, where she had the honor of serving as Homecoming Committee chairperson, Founder’s Day chairperson and Social chairperson.

At the Medical University of SC, Miriam obtained a master’s in Healthcare administration and graduated as a second generation alum. While in grad school, Miriam was on the Dean’s list and was able to complete her thesis on a tertiary healthcare system serving the needs of an impoverished community. It was during this time Miriam realized that she was drawn to helping people in her home state. Miriam went on to obtain a second master’s degree, work for Merger Central, Morgan Stanley, Bishop Rosen and Grady Hospital, but she never lost the feeling of needing to give back to SC.

Through the legacy left by her grandfather in the form of a family corporation, Miriam has spearheaded and acted as lead Trustee for Land and Investments Incorporated, The Kingsley DuBose and Sam Nunn Trust, The Kingsley Family Charitable Remainder Trust, The Gardner Waddell Charitable Remainder Unitrust and the Miriam W. Nunn and John Waddell Unitrust.
